THE KEY TO ETERNITY

THE KEY TO ETERNITY

After the death of someone we love, human nature kicks in and we begin to wonder about what has really happened to them.  Every religion offers their descriptions of eternity like heaven, paradise, semira, nirvana, etopia… but still our human mind wonders: did our loved one just die and that’s it?  There are many holy writings about the afterlife written by holy people to reflect upon, along with testimony from those with near death experiences.  Scriptures bear powerful witness to life after death of people coming back from the dead after burial; namely, Jesus, and those he brought back to life: Lazarus, the daughter of Jairus, and a few others.  The entire Bible bears witness to heaven starting from the very beginning in Genesis when God created the heavens and the earth.  Jesus assures us constantly in the Scriptures there is heaven and his Father is there and even declares it in that beautiful prayer, “Our Father who art in heaven…on earth as it is in heaven.”

Some people believe that when we die, that life completely ends, and that’s it.  There is no other realm.  We are dead.  We are no more.  But you see, that can’t be true.  There is life after death.  Our DNA can be traced back to the beginning of time and will continue to live on forever.  Even if our DNA lies inside other generations or distant relatives, we continue to exist from the past into the present and will continue to live into the future.   God's creation of us is everlasting.

As you take a deep look at what you believe and why you believe it and tie it to your belief in where your loved one is…you have to imagine life after death through the lens of love and with faith, not through the lens of the human mind.  After all, in the Book of Isaiah in Scripture, Isaiah wrote that "no eye has seen, ear has heard, or human heart has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him."  That is "truth" testimony that our minds can’t grasp or definitively imagine life after death, because it’s beyond our comprehension.  But love can…because love is the key to eternity.  In the end, it's all about Love.

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.   I say, Amen!
