HOLIDAYS ARE HARD
HOLIDAYS ARE HARD. Bottom line. Trying to cope, act normal, cover up tumultuous emotions, stop lethargy, stifle inner screams (the list goes on…) seems to be a lost cause when you’re grieving. Everything we’re experiencing inside of us does not match up with how we’re acting outside of us. Our composures are total opposites. To the outside world, we’re holding up well. Inside of us there lies a myriad of hidden emotional pain and hurt ready to erupt at the slightest misgiving. Yet we can’t. We have to hold it together. We just need to make it through this holiday or for that matter...each day. How? The answer is Grace. God’s Grace is sheer gift that transforms our minds, our hearts and our souls. God’s Grace and God's loving Mercy will carry us through the hardest of days and comforts us when nothing else can. Your loved one is eternally in a constant state of Grace and we experience moments of Grace throughout our lives. But when we are down and out and at a total loss trying to feel again -- especially when we feel nothing, humbly ask God for Grace and be confident that God will give you all the Grace you need to feel, to cope, to get through anything. Amazing Grace...how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me….
Note: the definition of a wretch: an unhappy person.
"Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." Hebrews 4:16
Holiday Suggestion: Safely Light a candle to honor your loved one. Let that light represent their love deeply kindled in your heart.
