NOTHING FITS

 Nothing Fits

No matter where I go and what I do, it feels like nothing fits.  Grief does that to you.  It’s so uncomfortable to feel out of place, out of sorts and out of touch.  I woke up this morning and everything has changed.  Why can’t everything go back to the way it was?  Loss is so palpable, can anything ever fit again?

While feeling unfit is “normal” during the grieving process, it will take time to adjust to feeling in place, in sorts and in touch in a different way.  Even though life will never be the same, you will be able to reestablish a different sense of your “self” without your loved one.  You’re not given a choice, but you can choose a renewed life force.   Even though you didn’t choose losing your loved one, you can choose to try on life in a different way.  So, as you navigate a new course in your life, know this:  You can do it.  You will do it.  God is with you and will guide you through it.  You will find joy again.

A wise person once wrote:  you don’t get over the death of a loved one…you get through it.

“Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice,
and no one will take away your joy. John 16:22
