MOURNING WEARS US DOWN

Mourning Wears On Us...

Wearing Grief is like wearing the heaviest garments.  On our outer bodies, we wear the customary black or feel like we are biblically dressed in sackcloth and ashes.  Inside our inner selves, we wear sadness, depression and overaching feelings of loss.  We walk with heavy hearts and sorrow weighing us down.  It brings to mind that moment in Scripture when Moses stands close to God and God asks Moses to take off his shoes, for he is standing on holy ground.  When we are grieving, we are standing on Holy Ground…whether we realize it or not, we are standing closer to God than ever…and God is right there…always…standing so incredibly close to us.

God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.”

Exodus 3:5 (NIV)
