THE GRIEF BRAIN

THE GRIEF BRAIN

I liken our grief brain to being in a tundra.
Whenever you think about your loved one or what you have lost…those thoughts go through a vast expanse of nothingness and swirl and echo and resound within, but feeling quite like everything is happening outside of us.  Far away but ever so close.  Inside.  It’s quite extraordinary really…entering into surreal.  To be numb.  To feel nothing.

I believe since our creation, God is there for us in any situation.  We can't always feel the hand of God leading us through the vast expanse of pain or loss or emptiness.  But God is there.  Every moment.  Every time.  Always.

He [God] led you through the vast and dreadful wilderness...”
  Deut 8:15

  1. Dear Mary: I am so forever grateful you have specifically reached out to people trying to deal with the loss of a loved one. Dealing with my grief has been a difficult journey, but I want you to know how much I have appreciated your personal guidance and your friendship during this painful time in my life. You have always known what exactly to say to me about the loss of my wife and you have given me great comfort with your kind and thoughtful words from God. I have a long way to go in my journey and knowing you will continue to be there for me helps me understand I am not alone! God Bless You and I still think book number 2 should be entitled, “It is what it is!”

    1. Dear Don and Mary, I couldn't agree more, your comments are so right on. Mary provided such comfort when Ken died. She has so much insight and cares so much. I can't thank her enough for being on this journey with me
