SECOND HAND GRIEF

                                                                                                  Secondhand Grief

There is an innate connection we hold with people who have lost a loved one.  Even if we don’t know the person(s) who died, we can emotionally connect to those feelings of loss because of our own experience of loss.  Embracing the sorrow someone else is holding in their hearts because of tragedy or war or disease or accident or violence, whether our awareness came about from the news or a friend of a friend, still brings a sense of divine connection from a deep wisdom within - because we understand what it feels like out of “knowing” that kind of pain.

Let us stay connected with those who are grieving with our secondhand grief -- by extending our thoughts and most especially…offering them our conversations of  consolation with God - our prayers.  Because Prayer changes you.  Prayer changes me.

For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief.

Ecc 1:18
