NOTHING FITS

Nothing Fits No matter where I go and what I do, it feels like nothing fits.  Grief does that to you.  It’s so uncomfortable to feel out of place, out of sorts and out of touch.  I woke up this morning and everything has changed.  Why can’t everything go back to the way it was?  Loss is so palpable, can anything ever fit again?   While feeling unfit is “normal” during the grieving process, it will take time to adjust to feeling in place, in sorts and in touch in a different way.  Even though life will never be the same, you will be able to reestablish a different sense of your “self” without your loved one.  You’re not given a choice, but you can choose a renewed life force.   Even though you didn’t choose losing your loved one, you can choose to try on life in a different way.  So, as you navigate a new course in your life, know this:  You can do it.  You will do it.  God is with you and will guide you thr...

MOURNING WEARS US DOWN

Image
Mourning Wears On Us... Wearing Grief is like wearing the heaviest garments.  On our outer bodies, we wear the customary black or feel like we are biblically dressed in sackcloth and ashes.  Inside our inner selves, we wear sadness, depression and overaching feelings of loss.  We walk with heavy hearts and sorrow weighing us down.  It brings to mind that moment in Scripture when Moses stands close to God and God asks Moses to take off his shoes, for he is standing on holy ground.  When we are grieving, we are standing on Holy Ground…whether we realize it or not, we are standing closer to God than ever…and God is right there…always…standing so incredibly close to us.  God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” Exodus 3:5 (NIV) For more information visit https://www.chaplainmary.net/ Or check out my book: https://www.amazon.com/Skirting-Thin-Veil-Meaningful-Life-Changing Photo by Chaplain Mary
